Welcome to Lake Michigan’s Only National Marine Sanctuary

Designated as the country’s 15th National Marine Sanctuary, Wisconsin Shipwreck Coast runs the coastline of Port Washington, Sheboygan, Manitowoc, and Two Rivers, and is home to one the most significant collections of intact shipwrecks in the world. While above water the Sanctuary features sand, surf, and sun – underwater houses 40 known shipwrecks—some in shallow waters, others some 450+ feet deep.

Stylized map of the sanctuary area including pin markers denoted shipwreck locations and the 4 main communities of Two Rivers, Manitowoc, Sheboygan, and Port Washington.
