TWO RIVERS

 TWO RIVERS – A community defined by water where the scenic East & West Twin Rivers meet at a sandy point extending into Lake Michigan. The Native Americans who were the first to settle this beautiful spot called the area “Neshotah” meaning “a junction of two rivers.  The first people to settle in Two Rivers were European’s looking to make a living off the rich fisheries of Rawley Point. The city remains a center for both commercial and sport fishing today.

 MANITOWOC-Shipbuilding has played a role in Manitowoc’s past from the schooners of the 19th century, to the world-class, luxury yachts built by Burger Boat Company of today. Stroll the riverwalk to the lake and watch freighters move tons of materials in and out of our hard working port. You might even catch glimpse of a yacht bound for the Mediterranean. Dive into history at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum and step aboard the USS Cobia, representative of the 28 submarines built in Manitowoc during WWII.

SHEBOYGAN- Sheboygan is the “Spirit on The Lake.” From breathtaking views of Lake Michigan with two miles of sandy beaches to world-class sailing and premier charter fishing, our coastal community has a lot to offer.   There are many theories as to how Sheboygan got its name, but the one most likely indicates Sheboygan was a Chippewa Indian word meaning “passage or waterway between the lakes.

 Originally founded as a village in 1848, and later incorporated as a city in 1882, Port Washington is a historic fishing village located along the shores of Lake Michigan.   The City is known for offering “a touch of New England charm combined with Midwestern friendliness” and has been named by Midwest Living to their Top 100 Best Midwest Small Town Getaways. Port Washington, today, is a tourist destination with a vibrant downtown and community events.
